P2P Networks and Music Downloading

Peer to Peer Networks are programs that are built to help people all across the world share information.  They have been used primarily to share music and programs.  This has resulted in lawsuits by the music industry against not only the makers of the programs, but in many cases the individuals who were sharing music.

These networks are also used to download expensive computer programs that people would rather not pay for if they don't need to.

There are programs to download music legally.  You can usually tell these apart because they charge by the song or the album.
